Information about us
Here you can find out about how we run things at Wix & Wrabness Pre-School.
We are a village Pre-School situated in the grounds of the local Wix & Wrabness Primary School. We are members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum teaching the 7 areas of learning. All these areas of learning are acheived through play, with fun activities suited to the age group.
About Our Facilities
Our Pre-School benefits from having a safe and secure outside play area with bikes, trikes, scooters, cars, slides, playhouse, sand pit and many more toys, and best of all, lots of space for your child to play and have lots of fun exploring and learning !! We also have an undercover area allowing us access outside whatever the weather. Our muddy kitchen provides plenty of opportunity for digging and squelching in the mud. We have a newly added digging area and herb garden not to mention our sensory garden.
There is also a dressing up area, creative area with permanent drawing table with crayons, colouring pencils, stencils and paper. We have a well-equipped role play area. A special area where they can sit and listen to stories or ponder over their favourite book!
All toys are chosen for their educational value so as to give your child exciting and stimulating play whilst they are learning. We have introduced Communication Friendly areas after consultation with Elizabeth Jarman.
Soft furnishings and lighting gives our preschool a real home from home feel.
If you would like a place for your child at our Pre-School, please pop in and see us and we'll gladly take the time to explain everything you need to know. You can make an appointment by phone or by using our contact form. We look forward to meeting you!

A Key Person will be appointed to each child when they join the Pre-School, if a child forms a bond with a particular member of staff the Pre-School will endeavour to place the child with them as their Key Person.
The Key Person will work with parents to plan and deliver a personalised plan for the child's well-being,care and learning. Creating their very own Learning Journey Book which they will receieve at the end of their Pre-School education with us.
A Key Person is responsible for development records and for sharing information on a regular basis with the child's parents to keep those records up to date, therefore reflecting the full picture of the child in our setting and at home.
We promote the role of the Key Person in our setting as the basis for establishing trusted relationships.
What happens if my child is ill?
It's unavoidable that small children catch all kinds of minor infections. For a speedy recovery and to prevent the other children from falling ill, children who are unwell must be kept at home. If your child has sickness or diarrhea or been prescribed anti-biotics please allow 48 hrs before you return your child to Pre-School. If the disease is infectious please check the disease chart found in our sickness policy for the reccommended time off.
If you have to give your child Calpol in the morning because they are a little under the weather, we ask that you keep them at home for that day.
